Press Release...
When Cahalen Morrison and Eli West released their stunning debut album, The Holy Coming of The Storm (reviewed here) it met with instantaneous reaction on both sides of the Atlantic.
Bob Harris invited them to record a studio session for his BBC Radio 2 show, saying their music was “quite extraordinary”, and after they created such an impact during their first ever UK tour, Celtic Connections festival gave them a show of their own and they then appeared at just about every major outdoor event thereafter.
Admired by their peers as much as by those who love great roots music, Cahalen and Eli count many recognised names among those who sing their praises. When The Times invited Chris Wood to name his Six of The Best Folk Acts, he singled them out saying they were “passionate, committed, accomplished, searching and sailing in the sea of their own inheritance”
The duo are back on this side of the Atlantic promoting their stunning new album, this time produced by Tim O’Brien, himself a fan who says they “make music the world needs!”
This is what others have had to say:
“Beautiful rootsy Americana” – Time Out
"Thrilling" - The List
“Outstanding” – fRoots magazine
