Beth Nielsen Chapman

Beth Nielsen Chapman
The Sage

Just one night after seeing Santana, it was concert time again. On this occasion, it was a return to one of my home-from-homes - the magnificent Sage in Gateshead.

My full review is scheduled to appear in a well known music magazine (details to follow), so here's a few lightly annotated photos to be going on with.

Despite some terrible events in her life (her husband died of cancer, then she had her own cancer battle, followed by a brain tumour), Beth has a remarkably positive (and infectious) outlook on life.

Maartin Allcock on bass

Ruth Trimble on keyboard and harmony vocals

Eilidh Patterson on harmony vocals

That's (nearly) all folks! But an encore swiftly followed...

Martha Tilston, who provided an excellent support set, joined in the fun for a couple of number with Beth and co. For me, the highlight of the show were the four-way harmonies on the vocals.

Goodnight all!
