I'd been wanting to go on The Eye for some time and just ran out of time on my other trips to London. This time I was determined to somehow fit it in. Despite rumours of long queues and the need to book in advance, I got more or less straight on at 10.00 a.m.

Despite the height, the flight was very slow and
gentle and not at all nerve-wracking
