Magnus Carlsen, the World's No.1 rated player, will start as favourite but it will not be easy for him. Levon Aronian, Vladimir Kramnik, Hikaru Nakamura, Judit Polgar, Mickey Adams, Luke McShane and Gawain Jones will all be in action too.
There are numerous other events scheduled to run alongside the classic, including junior tournaments and coaching, plus the chance to play Nigel Short in two simultaneous displays.
