Great interview with Mike Basman - did he prove difficult?

Some quite prickly answers to perfectly reasonable questions I thought.

No, he wasn't at all difficult. The prickliness was often tongue in cheek and/or irony.

The dynamics between the leading players of the 1970s were complex, as one would imagine given characters at opposite ends of various spectrums.

There are not many people who would grab Smyslov and shake him to offer a draw!
