Cats is a thoroughly enjoy show despite its wafer-thin plot line. Essentially, a magnificent, aged mog by the unlikely name of Old Deuteronomy wants to nominate a special cat to be reborn into a new Jellicle life. Despite some shenanigans from the villainous Macavity, the selection process eventually reaches its predictable end.

No, the plot is not the strongest point of the show.

It is the singing and dancing routines which are main event. Every line is delivered in song and the energetic set pieces are incredible in both their imagination and execution. The cats frequently break ''the fourth wall'' by stalking and strutting into the audience.

The show-stealing song is, of course, Memory, which is the best part of the whole performance by a country mile.
